Welcome to St Michael’s

We’re a church of all ages - from 9 weeks to 90 - living out Jesus’ call to love God and love our community. We want to demonstrate the unusual kindness of Jesus to everyone we meet. If you’re looking for a place to call home, we’d love to see you!

We start where Jesus started - by demonstrating His unusual kindness and compassion to our community and our town. We want people to encounter Him, to go deeper with Him and have their lives transformed by Him. Because when we invite God into our lives, incredible things happen!

Our Church Verse is Acts 28:2

2 The natives showed us unusual kindness. Since it had begun to rain and was cold, they kindled a fire and welcomed all of us round it.

This verse inspired two things:

1) Our Vision ‘To share the Unusual Kindness of Jesus in our Community’

2) The name for The Kindling Network - an initiative to support and encourage clergy throughout England
