Part-Time Church Administrator

Location: St Michael and All Angels Church, Willingdon Road, Eastbourne BN21 1TN

Hours: 10 hours per week, with the opportunity for flexible working

Salary: £14.50 per hour

Contract Type: Part-time

About Us:

St Michael’s is a welcoming and active parish within the Church of England, committed

to worship, community service, and spiritual growth. We are looking for a capable and

motivated Church Administrator to support the smooth running of our church life and

ministry.

The Role:

The Church Administrator plays a key role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation

of the parish office and provides vital support to the clergy, PCC (Parochial Church

Council), and church volunteers.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing church communications (email, phone, website, notice sheets, social

  • media)

  • Preparing weekly service sheets, newsletters, and notices

  • Handling bookings for the church and church hall

  • Maintaining accurate church records (including rotas, registers, and databases)

  • Liaising with clergy, churchwardens, and volunteers

  • Supporting the Safeguarding Team

  • Ensuring compliance with GDPR, Safeguarding policies, and other statutory

    requirements

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has excellent organisational and administrative skills

  • Communicates clearly and warmly, both in writing and in person

  • Is confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic

  • website/social media tools

  • Can work independently, maintain confidentiality, and manage their time well

  • Is sympathetic to the mission and ethos of the Church of England

Previous experience in administration or a church setting is desirable but not essential.
